Dillon and Quinn
Dillon and Quinn
Dillon is our 9 year old Black Lab and Quinn is our 5 year old Brindle Plott Hound.
The Plott Hound is the State dog of North Carolina and was originally bred for hunting wild boar and treeing other wild game.
The Plott hound brings down the large wild boar by snapping the Achilles tendon of the fleeing animal. Brave and athletic, these dogs are also loving and faithful companions, but they do need a firm pack leader.
The Black Lab originated from Newfoundland and was bred to swim out and pull in the fishing nets. Most of this activity was in the Labrador Sea, and hence the name Labrador Retriever. It was previously known as the St Johns Water dog or the Lesser Newfoundland dog. Nowadays, they are one of the most popular breeds in the world and are used in many differing ways due to their superb gentle nature and intelligence.
